
5. Opaque Bubble Layer!
-It is a femtosecond laser flap complication!
-Gas bubbles accumulate in the stroma of the cornea during flap creation.
-OBL will cause adhesions in the lamellar interface making the flaps harder to lift.
TREATMENT:
-Gently rub the stromal bed with a smooth instrument.
-Wait 10-30 minutes for the OBL to get absorbed and then proceed with ablation.
PREVENTION:
-Create a good meniscus during docking process (Good docking technique-Soft docking)
